What drives Charlottetown prices

Charlottetown is an island market, and that is what shapes its price. All fuel reaching the city arrives by the Confederation Bridge or by ferry, which keeps Charlottetown among the highest-priced markets in Canada. There is no way around the water, so every load has to come across the bridge or on the ferry. That single fact explains where the city prices. As an island it is served the same way for every delivery, with fuel crossing to reach the pumps, and that dependence on the water crossing keeps prices at the top of the Canadian range.
